Wilbur Taylor, Jr., age 82, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Wilbur carried the warmth and spirit of the South with him throughout his life, touching the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. After retiring from a dedicated career at Appleton Papers, Wilbur embarked on a new chapter, earning his real estate license and proudly serving as a trusted realtor for over 21 years. His honesty, patience, and integrity made him a respected professional and a dependable guide for many navigating life’s big decisions. Wilbur was a man of remarkable consistency and quiet strength. He lived his life with intention—never in a rush, always present, and fully engaged with those around him. He was the kind of man who truly listened, who offered wisdom without judgment, and whose humor and humility made everyone feel at ease. Whether it was a thoughtful conversation, a helping hand, or simply his calming presence, Wilbur had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. He was the proud father of two daughters, Kimberly Taylor of Harrisburg, PA, and Sonya Short (Martin) of North Chesterfield, VA, and the cherished grandfather of Samya Payne of Charlotte, NC. His love extended beyond blood, as he also played a paternal role in the lives of others—offering the kind of steady, unconditional support that only someone with a heart as generous as his could give. Wilbur leaves behind his lifelong partner, Viola Faulcon, who stood by his side with love and devotion, and Kimberly’s mother, Deborah Butler whose companionship and loyalty brought him joy throughout the years. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss his wisdom, laughter, and unwavering kindness. He was a man of many beautiful contradictions: humble yet confident, laid back yet intentional, reserved yet deeply connected to others. Wilbur was, simply put, a good man—a rarity in this world—and his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched with grace and compassion. As we say goodbye, we honor not just the life he lived, but the way he made us feel: cared for, understood, and deeply loved. Wilbur Taylor, Jr. will be missed beyond words and remembered always.
