Sue C. Sellers

Sue C. Sellers, beloved daughter of the late John D. McKee and the late Ida B. McKee, was born on December 14, 1945, in Somerset, Kentucky. Sue accepted Christ at an early age and began a lifelong journey of faith. She was a devoted member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky, before uniting in fellowship with Beulah Baptist Church in Steelton, Pennsylvania, in June 1970. At Beulah, she faithfully served in the Culinary, Missionaries, and Nurses Ministries, sharing her time, talents, and caring spirit with others. One of her favorite scriptures, John 3:16, reflected the foundation of her faith and the love she carried in her heart. Sue graduated from Somerset High School in 1964 and went on to build a dedicated career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, where she served for more than 30 years before retiring. Known for her strong work ethic and commitment, she earned numerous certificates and awards throughout her career. Beyond her professional life, Sue was deeply connected to her community. For over 40 years, she worked as an Avon sales representative, forming lasting relationships along the way. She also gave her time as a delivery driver for Meals on Wheels, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Sue was an avid reader who loved getting lost in romance and thriller novels, especially those by Danielle Steele and James Patterson. She enjoyed visiting yard sales, often returning home with treasured finds and stories to share. A loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, she cheered for her team with unwavering enthusiasm. Above all, Sue expressed her love through cooking, bringing family and friends together for cookouts, holiday meals, and special gatherings. Her “world-famous” banana pudding was a favorite and will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting it. On Friday, May 1, 2026, at eighty years of age, Sue peacefully transitioned into eternal life, surrounded by the love of her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Lee McKee of Somerset, Kentucky, and Joseph McKee of Louisville, Kentucky. Left to cherish her precious memories are her children, Timothy F. McKee of Steelton, Pennsylvania, and Twayna M. Sellers of Baltimore, Maryland; three grandchildren, Tyler McKee of Huntington, Delaware, Kayce McKee of Brooklyn, New York, and Rachael McKee of Burlington, Vermont; her siblings, Leon D. McKee of Somerset, Kentucky, Johnetta Mitchell of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Shirley D. Coleman and Marilyn G. Adams, both of Lexington, Kentucky, Mark McKee of Harker Heights, Texas, Elizabeth “Libby” Fitch of Van Nuys, California, and Dewayne McKee of Somerset, Kentucky; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
