Kathleen E. Hill

Kathleen E. Hill, affectionately known as “Toot,” daughter of the late Samuel R. Jones and Frances McCullough Jones, was born on Friday, April 4, 1941, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Kathleen received her education through the Steelton School District. She was united in holy matrimony to Ike Hill in 1957, and their union was blessed with two sons, Donald Anthony Hill and Ike James Hill. Kathleen was a faithful woman of God whose love for the church spanned her entire life. She was a member of McCullough Memorial Church, where she sang in the choir. Later in life, she returned to her grandfather’s church and to her childhood church, Cornerstone Church of the Living God, formerly Highland Street Church, under the pastorate of Elder Kelly L. Deeds. There, she faithfully served on the Mothers’ Board, as President of the Food Bank, as one of the Executive Advisors to the Pastor, as Kitchen Manager, and as caregiver to her mother, Frances Jones. Kathleen was also a personal assistant to world-renowned gospel singer Gloria Spencer. On Monday, June 8, 2026, Kathleen E. Hill peacefully transitioned into eternal life at the age of eighty-five years of age. In addition to her parents, Samuel R. Jones and Frances C. Jones, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Samuel Robert Jones, William “Skuggy” Jones, and Robert A. Jones; her son, Ike Anthony Hill; and her sisters, Rose Marie Jones, Julie Lee Mitchell, and Frances Marie McMillion. Kathleen leaves precious memories to be cherished by her sons, Donald Hill of Jacksonville, Florida; her grandchildren, Joyce “Tonette” Hill (Tracy), Shaneea Peek (Darryl), Yana Hill, Donald Hill Jr., Maliyah Hill, Tanisha Fraizer, Gina Water, Jalannie Hill, Dante Hill, Tai Hill, James Rogers and Carol Adam; her brothers and sisters, John Alexander Jones of Middletown, Pennsylvania, Annie Thelma Deeds, Bressler, Pennsylvania, Mary Elizabeth Dorothy “Dutchess” Jones of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Gerald “Crunch” Jones of Tucson, Arizona, Ruth Audrey “Midget” Jones of Steelton, Pennsylvania, and Barbara Ann Jones “Bobbie” Watkins (Aubrey) Harrisburg, PA, James Nathaniel Jones (Angelia) Washington, D.C., and Thomas Aquilla Jones (Varetta) of Harrisburg, PA; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was loved dearly while she was here and will be sadly missed.
