Dwane Anthony Lyles Tennant

Dwane Anthony Lyles Tennant was born Tuesday, March 7, 1961, in Harrisburg, PA, son of the late Joseph W. Tennant and the late Mary “Betty” (Lyles) Tennant. Known as Tony by family and friends, Dwane graduated from Harrisburg High School and, thereafter, served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and returning home with pride from his military tour of duty. From a young age, Dwane had a passion for boxing, a love he shared with his father. He achieved recognition as a Golden Gloves Boxer dedicating time to staying in shape and often found jogging along the riverfront or working out at the YMCA. He also was an avid chess player who enjoyed seeking out opponents around the Third Street area for a good game. He often expressed his love for good food, offering constructive feedback on meals in his own kind way, of course. Known for his warm personality, Dwane was very outspoken and, above all else, he cherished his family who meant everything to him. Tony had a beautiful heart and would give you the coat off his back if he had it to spare. This loving trait of generosity was inherited from his mother. On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at sixty-three years of age, Dwane transitioned from time to eternity joining in eternal life his parents, his maternal grandparents, Rose Lyles and Freddie Bowers; paternal grandparents, David Tennant and Anna McNeil; and three sons, Kevin Evans, Brandon Granthon and Ahmad Tennant. Dwane’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of his siblings, Earl Lyles, Joseph Everett, Rosemary Lyles, Tarita Lyles Tennant, Karla Lyles Tennant and Antionette Patterson; his sons, Dwane Tennant Jr., Shakur Tennant, Kevin Shurns, Anthony Williams and Jamiere Tennant; daughter, Paris Williams; his grandchildren, Auniyah Brown, Ka`vian Martin Shurns, Kasen Martin, Kevin Shurns, Nasir Tennant, Nylia Tennant, Nyoni Tennant, Jolisa Tennant, Zaiden Tennant, Shakyla Tennant, Shakur Tennant Jr., Ka`nyla Tennant and Shania Tennant; great-grandsons, Bienton McMillan Jr. and Julian McMillan; along with other family members and friends.
