Charles Michael Dodd

Charles Michael Dodd, the son of the late George Dodd and Eva (Penn-Dodd) Ingram was born on Tuesday, May 21, 1946, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He received his formal education in the Harrisburg School District, graduating from the former William Penn High School. During his formative years, Charles discovered his passion for sports, actively participating in little league baseball and playing competitive basketball for many years. These experiences highlighted his athletic abilities and taught him the importance of teamwork and perseverance, which influenced his approach to life. His talents extended beyond academics and sports, earning admiration from teachers and peers alike. Charles displayed a natural ability to connect with others, fostering friendships and partnerships that would grow throughout his life. His love for teamwork and community, cultivated during his early years; became the cornerstone of his character. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, during his years in the Army, Charles demonstrated a profound sense of commitment and discipline, traits that would serve him well throughout his life. After his honorable service, he pursued a career in car sales, where his charisma and genuine care for people made him not only successful but beloved by his colleagues and customers alike. He retired from the former England Motors on the Carlisle pike. In addition to his professional achievements, Charles had various interests that he enjoyed. A staunch supporter of the Yankees, he rarely missed a game, cheering passionately for his favorite team through their victories and losses. He also cherished the thrill of horse racing, often spending afternoons at the tracks, captivated by the grace and speed of the horses. These interests not only provided him with leisure but also opportunities to forge connections with others who shared his enthusiasm, until his health hindered his participation. Charles was lovingly cared for by his nieces Cynthia Brooks-Green, Robin Turner, Tracy Jackson, and his great-nephew Devon Mathews. On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the age of 79 Charles Michael Dodd transitioned peacefully from earth to glory. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Wayne, Marshall, and Conway Dodd, his sisters, Barbara Jean Evans, and Evangelist Rebecca Brooks Charles leaves to celebrate his life and legacy; his son, Brian Jackson of California, daughter, Angela Jackson of Atlanta; his sisters, Myrtice Davenport, Wanda Lou Jackson (Moses) and Brenda Turner; all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and Helen Kelly (John) of Winston Salem, North Carolina; his aunt Alma Sherrod of Washington, DC, his sister-in-law, Essie Dodd of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, his Friend that was more like a brother; Phil Overton; loyal friend, Freya Sponseller, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
