The Obituary Betty Jane Wallace ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “…Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies…” Proverbs 31:10 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Betty, affectionately known as “Grandma,” was born on September 19, 1945, in Morristown, New Jersey, daughter of the late Arthur McKlin and the late Melvina McCullough Hutchinson. Betty received her education in the Boonton Township, NJ School System. On August 12, 1961, Alfred Wallace Jr. married the love-of-his-life, Betty Jane McKlin, and he proudly confesses she was everything he ever wanted on earth. Alfred and Betty were blessed with four lovely children, Cheryle, Dawn, Brian and Troy. Betty was the glue that held her family together. She was totally committed to making sure her husband, children and grandchildren were always happy and taken care of. Betty gave of herself unselfishly making many sacrifices to assure the well-being of her family. A hard working and industrious entrepreneur, she owned and managed, Betty’s Cleaning Service. This devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend graciously shared the comforts of her immaculate home and her delicious meals with family members and many friends. Through good times and challenging times, Alfred and Betty’s marriage bond lasted for almost fifty-four years. At an early age, Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she faithfully served as a member of the Choir, Prayer Team, Nurse’s Aide, Senior Missionaries and in numerous other capacities over the years. Betty truly loved the Lord and diligently delighted herself in the Word. Even through her illness, she remained faithful, prayerful and full of praise. Betty’s involvement in the community included Girl Scout Troop Leader volunteer and serving with the Boonton Kiwanis Ambulance Department. On Wednesday, March 4, 2015, God opened his door and welcomed Betty home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Louis Hutchinson; her brother, Samuel McKlin; and one sister, Gertrude Ramsey and her husband Jim. Betty Jane “Grandma” Wallace leaves to honor her legacy and cherish many lasting and special memories: her devoted and loving husband, Alfred Wallace Jr. of Boonton Township, NJ; two daughters, Cheryle Wallace of Rockaway, NJ, Dawn Wallace of Morristown, NJ; two sons, Brian Wallace of Parsippany, NJ, Troy Wallace of Wayne, NJ; four grandchildren, Dominique Spicer of Rockaway, Kyle Spicer of Boonton Township, both of whom Betty and Alfred raised from an early age, Corey Wallace of Parsippany, Sydney Brown of Morristown; two daughters-in-law, Danette Wallace (Brian) of Parsippany, Janyne Wallace (Troy) of Wayne; two sisters, Louise Beatty of Boonton, NJ, Jean Anderson of Boonton Township; an aunt, Martha Able of NC; sister-in-law, Minnie McKlin of Boonton; honorary daughter, Tanya Simmons of Landing, NJ; two step-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
