Audrey Maxine Clowe

Ms. Audrey Maxine Clowe was the youngest of six children born to the late James Henry Clowe and Bessie (Jackson) Clowe on July 15, 1938, in Linden, Fauquier County, Virginia. Audrey was a proud graduate of William C. Taylor High School, Class of 1956, in Warrenton, VA. Soon after graduating, she moved to Harrisburg, PA, where she pursued various employment opportunities. Audrey held many support staff positions at companies, including Harrisburg State Hospital, IBM, Morrison-Knudsen, and Delta Dental. In her spare time, Audrey enjoyed volunteering with the South-Central Pennsylvania Sickle Cell Council, where she orchestrated fundraising initiatives. Audrey was a faithful member of Monumental A.M.E. Church in Steelton, PA. While attending, she lent her talent towards the Missionary Board, Philadelphia Missionary, Stewardess, Lay Organization, Steward, Finance Committee, Trustee, and Mortgage Club. Audrey valued her friendships with IBM colleagues, which continued after retirement. Known for her sharp humor, she often surprised or amused others with her remarks. She was a proud member of the Harrisburg, PA, Chapter of Red Hatter Society, Inc. You could find her and her sister Henrietta donning their red hats with joyful glee. Audrey was an avid fan of The X-Files and General Hospital. So much so, her family and friends knew not to call her during showtime. Throughout her life, she had a passion for dancing and other social gatherings. Audrey's warmth and smile will be missed by all who knew her. On January 22, 2026, Audrey peacefully departed this life. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings James Clowe, Calvin Clowe, Algernon Clowe, Jack Clowe, and sister Henrietta Roach. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, with special affection for nephews Dwight Roach and Trent Roach (Ernestine).
