Albertine Juanita Thompson

Albertine Juanita Thompson, affectionately known as “Tina” or “Teen,” daughter of the late Booker T. Livingston, Sr., and Robbie Meadors, was born on September 9, 1937, in Summerfield, Louisiana. Albertine was raised with deep southern roots while living a bicoastal life in both Long Beach, California, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended Peter H. Burnett Elementary School and Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Long Beach, where she was also nurtured in the Christian faith at Grant A.M.E. Church. She later graduated from Germantown High School in Northwest Philadelphia. Following graduation, Tina worked in her stepfather Henry Jones’ restaurant, where she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Joel Thompson. They were united in holy matrimony on August 29, 1958, beginning a beautiful union that lasted sixty-seven years and was blessed with two sons, Peter (Pete) and Paul. Tina later attended Harrisburg Area Community College and enjoyed a successful 25-year career as a manager with Nationwide Insurance. She also devoted countless hours volunteering with the Cub Scouts, Harrisburg Libraries, and the Steelton Senior Center. Tina found joy in crossword puzzles, painting, pottery, reading, and traveling. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, caring sister, faithful friend, dedicated co-worker, gifted organizer, and committed volunteer. Beautiful both inside and out, her life reflected faith, hope, charity, and a genuine love for others. On Friday, June 19, 2026, at eighty-eight years of age, Albertine peacefully transitioned into eternal rest. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Cleo Livingston; her stepfather, Henry Jones; and her siblings, Patricia Murray, Booker T. Livingston Jr., and Warren Jones. Albertine leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Peter Thompson and Paul Thompson (Yolanda); her brother, Alfred (Annie); her sister, Sandra (Larry); her grandchildren, Adrianna, Max, Michael, Jordan, Trinity (Brandon), Zachary, Danielle, Jazmine, Noelle, and Nathaniel; her great-grandchild, Tatum; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure her love and legacy.
