Aida L. Negron- Fontanez

Aida L. Negron-Fontanez, daughter of the late Jesus Negron-Morales and the late Eulalia Negron-Fontanez, was born Thursday, November 20, 1952, in Barrio Borinquen/Caguas, Puerto Rico. She retired from the Harrisburg Housing Authority, Harrisburg, PA. Our mother was a gentle spirit, resilient woman, an avid animal lover and an overall beautiful human being whose kindness and compassion touched the lives of everyone she met. As a devoted animal lover, she spent countless hours working to improve the lives of stray cats through trap and release programs. She also visited inner-city neighborhoods throughout Harrisburg, PA, to feed and/or care for strays which included squirrels, birds, groundhogs and even a few deer! Animals literally flocked to her as if she were the real “Snow White!” The neighborhood kids would bring sick/wounded animals to her exclaiming, “Ms. Aida,” Ms. Aida!” We found this kitten! Can you help it?” Our mother would always say yes, then tirelessly nurse every animal back to perfect health. She had a heart full of compassion. She also gave selflessly to those in need, always offering a helping hand to those less fortunate. Through her work at the Harrisburg Housing Authority, she touched countless lives and made a lasting impact; many called her their “Guardian Angel.” She always put others first. Her kindness, empathy and generosity will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. While at her home in Harrisburg, PA, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Aida L. Negron-Fontanez transitioned from this life at seventy-two years of age. She leaves a beautiful, loving and compassionate legacy to be honored and cherished by her daughter, Emily J. Gray; daughter, Judy L. Negron; daughter, Jasmine Negron; son, Joseph “Joe” Negron; her daughter’s partner, Kimberly L. Walk; grandson, Felix “Pito” Flores III; granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Flores; grandson, Jordan R. Stevens; grandson, Andrew S. Rivera; granddaughter, Vanessa J. Rivera; granddaughter, Summer S. Rivera; grandson, Corey J. Miller; grandson, Tyler C. Miller; grandson, Jordan A. Cassagnol; great-granddaughter, Emery M. Flores; great-grandson, Felix “Eli” Flores IV; great-granddaughter, Grace A. Stevens; great-granddaughter, Autymn R. Rivera; great-granddaughter, Shania L. Tennant; great-grandson, Legend A. Santiago; great-grandson, Avery R. Boyd; great-granddaughter, Alina R. Rivera; sister, Linda Negron-Fontanez; sister, Adalminda Negron-Fontanez; and brother, Roberto Negron-Fontanez.
