Yohannes T. Michael Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Yohannes T. Michael, the son of the late Colonel Tesfa-Michael Tesfa-Tsion and Mrs. Teka Andu, was born on July 17, 1952, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Yohannes grew up in Addis Ababa with his only sister Lydia and four brothers, Kelleta (deceased), Yoseph (deceased), Yonas, and Yessak (deceased). Yohannes departed this earthly life on July 26, 2022 in Harrisburg, PA. Yohannes was married to Tsedale Makonnen and blessed with two children, Saba and Aman. Yohannes, age 70, lived at 1325 Wandering Way, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He attended Nativity Boys Elementary School and Commercial School of Ethiopia, graduating with the Class of 1972. After completion of his high school, Yohannes came to the United States and graduated in 1974 from Central Pennsylvania Business College. Yohannes continued his education at The Pennsylvania State University as a Business Administration Major in 1976 and further continued his education for a Master’s Degree at Shippensburg State University as a Public Administration Major. In 1985 Yohannes and his brother Yoseph founded T.M. & Sons Company and Harrisburg Computers, Inc., a subsidiary of T.M. & Sons. He was the Executive Vice President of the Corporation. Prior to embarking on this business venture, Yohannes was employed by Mellon Bank as a manager of the Corporate Cash Management Division for over 13 years and worked at Fairway Mortgage Services, Inc., as a loan officer. In 2014 Yohannes joined the ITT Institute of Technology in Philadelphia teaching computer science. And finally, Yohannes embarked into a new business venture in 2014, an Ethiopian Restaurant and coffee shop in Harrisburg called The Café D’Afric. Yohannes T. Michael leaves to cherish his memory to his wife, Tsedale Makonnen; to one son, Aman Yohannes of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Saba Yohannes; grandsons, Lukas and Liben Wouhib of Washington, D.C.; one brother, Yonas Michael; and one sister, Lydia Michael of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
