Mary Helen Toney Curry Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Helen Toney Curry, the first of three children, was born Wednesday, July 11, 1951, in Troy, Pike County, Alabama, to the late Mr. Tommie Lee Toney and Mrs. Wilhemena Williams Toney. Mary confessed Christ at an early age and remained faithful until being called home. She was educated at Southside Elementary School and East Academy Street High School in Troy, Alabama. Upon her high school graduation, Mary moved to Allentown, PA, where she worked for PPL until she moved to East Orange, NJ. Mary later returned to Allentown, where she worked for Western Union and Excel Logistics. Mary’s job transferred to Carlisle, PA, which caused her to move to Middletown, PA, in 1997, and later to Highspire, PA, where she lived until her passing. Mary departed this life on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, while at Community General Hospital in Harrisburg, PA. Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Gwendolyn Williams Mason of Charleston, SC. Mary leaves a devoted husband of forty-two years, Travers A. Curry of Highspire, PA; one brother, Willie F. Toney of Tuskegee, AL; one stepson, Keenan Curry of Philadelphia, PA; as well as extended family Mary loved and would travel across the country to visit, including, one Uncle, Willie S. Williams, Yemassee, SC; one Aunt, Lizzie R. Williams, Troy, AL; two sisters-in-law, Tana (Orvell) Palmer and Torrie Curry, all of Allentown, PA; four special nieces, Kellie M. Hill, Mobile, AL, Jamesha J. Henderson, Birmingham, AL, Demonica L. Taylor, Montgomery, AL, Tawanda N. Toney, Montgomery, AL; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
