Krista Chase

On the morning of July 13, 2025 at 2:37 AM our beloved Krista Chase – wife, mother, grandmother, cousin and spiritual friend was called to glory after a short illness. Born on September 4, 1950 to the late Anna Romaine Roberts and Norman S. O’Neal, Krista was lovingly raised in the home of her grandparents - Albert and Roshae Roberts. She shared a close-knit childhood with her beloved sister Vikki Brown and her younger siblings Allyn O’Neal and Terry Smith. Krista grew up in the small town of Oberlin, PA. Oberlin was more than just a place to live. It was a community where Krista was surrounded by cousins and extended family. It created a nurturing and loving environment that shaped her early years. Krista was highly intelligent and athletically gifted. She scored many firsts, including first African-American cheerleader at Central Dauphin East High School and becoming a cheerleader at the HBCU Cheyney State College. Fifty years later she was honored as the first black female graduate of Kings College in Wilkes Barre, PA where they treated her like royalty. Krista received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics – graduating cum laude from Kings College. Krista moved to Philadelphia, PA after college and met the love of her life, Clarence Chase. The connection was magical, and after two years they were married. A union that lasted 50 years and produced two magnificent children – Christopher and Kaleisha. Clarence and Krista put special emphasis on education, achievement and Christian values. Krista with her husband and children were longtime members of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church where Krista served as the church treasurer for ten years. Krista’s deep and unwavering faith guided her life, growing stronger with each passing year. She poured out love, encouragement, and compassion to everyone she met, and instilled in her children and five grandchildren the enduring Christian values of kindness, faith and grace. Vocationally, her true calling was in sales and marketing where she thrived on full commission, outselling her competition and winning any incentive placed before her. She was head of sales and marketing for the two family businesses she and her husband Clarence started – Flow & Glow Cosmetic Co. and Fellowship Tours Inc. She travelled from New York to Washington DC promoting products manufactured in the family manufacturing facility. Additionally, Krista negotiated deals to supply a major beauty school with Flow & Glow’s Lanaloe Creamy Hair Conditioner. Her crowning achievement was the wildly successful travel agency Fellowship Tours where she sent large groups on international trips around the world and customized black history tours for community organizations. Krista successfully ran her company for 30 years. Anyone who met Krista was drawn in by her warmth, sincerity and genuine charm. To meet Krista was to fall in love with the joy that shone brightly as a beacon of positivity. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Krista leaves to mourn her passing: Husband – Clarence Chase, Children – Christopher Chase and Kaleisha Flythe along with their spouses Kyndal and Aquil; Grandchildren – Elijah Flythe, Jadon Flythe, Keira Chase, Kaiya Flythe, Branden Chase, Sister Vikki Brown (Reginald) and Brother Terri Smith (Rhonda). Additionally, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends, business associates, and church family.
