Jasper "Tiny" Edwards

Jasper Edwards, known as “Tiny” by family and friends, was born Saturday, April 1, 1967, in Gadsden, AL, to Janice (Edwards) Brissett and the late Jasper Caulton. Jasper was the second oldest of six children. Jasper and his family relocated to Watts, California, when he was just a young child. He was always inquisitive and paid attention to everyone and everything around him. He received his education in the Los Angeles School System, played the violin and participated in basketball and football. He also learned gymnastic skills at the 109th Street Recreation Center. Jasper and his family relocated to Harrisburg, PA, in December of 1985. He was a strong-willed person with a good heart and the “Soldier” of the family. He had a beautiful smile that will be missed dearly and a sweet soul. He always respected his elders and those around him. He was also a great neighbor always helping the sick ones, taking in the groceries and plowing the snow. Jasper was the first person to teach and coach his children and grandchildren basketball and gymnastics, and he was a den father of his sons’ Boy Scout Troop. He had “Tough Love” but “Real Love.” He loved spending time with his family doing activities such as boxing, children’s events, fishing, movies, going to the park and family gatherings. He loved to cook; his name was Chef OG. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his favorite teams, the 49’ers and the Lakers. He was also an animal lover who enjoyed training the family dogs. He would bring different animals home from work such as frogs, rabbits and snakes. Jasper worked in the construction field for twenty-five years. He was a hard worker, a leader and just an overall noble person. After his employment tenure in construction, he began working at Karns Food. The customers gave Jasper compliments about his great work ethics and how he would assist them despite his workload. He retired from Karns due to his health issues. On Monday, October 30, 2023, Jehovah God called his fearless soldier home. He peacefully entered into rest surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father. Jasper “Tiny” Edwards leaves to cherish precious memories of his life journey: his devoted wife Maria of Harrisburg, PA, (Jasper and Maria had a “Loyal Love” that was “Solid as a Rock”); his mother, Janice (Bryron), Harrisburg, PA, (he and his mother had an undeniable Mother/Son bond that will live in her heart forever); his four children, Tara, Jayron, Jarell, all of Harrisburg, PA, and Jasperae (Cody) of Mims, FL; his brothers, LaVon (Jennifer) of California, Kasper, Billy and Onaje, Harrisburg, PA; and his sister, Felicia of Delaware. His memory will also be honored by his grandchildren, A`Zyion, Jayla, Javar and Jrue; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. “And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched, for nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much.
