Edwin Junior Johnson
October 23, 1957 - March 26, 2022
Edwin Junior Johnson, also known as Dan, was born on October 23, 1957, to Ivelyn Small (Ms. Ivy) and Simeon Johnson in Kingston, Jamaica. After completing his Associate’s Degree in Computer Science at C.A.S.T. (College of Arts, Science and Technology), Edwin then migrated to the United States to be with his mother. Edwin worked at John Hopkins Hospital in the Oncology Department as a Computer Programmer/Analyst. He was well known as a problem solver. His last place of employment was as a Programmer/Analyst for McKesson HBO, a contractor for the United States Government, where he maintained the pharmacy at one of their hospitals. He was very knowledgeable in technology and everyday life situations. On a trip to Jamaica in 1987, he met and married Juliet Brown. Juliet then migrated to the United States to be with her husband. Together, they raised six boys and five girls. Edwin realized the importance of certain life skills, and so he taught his children to cook, bake, sew and to fear and serve the Lord. He also realized the importance of education. He taught his sons how to build, repair and program computers and made every moment a teaching moment. He had exquisite taste in food and was always kind. He loved Reggae music, and at times could be seen dancing to the beat. Above all else, he loved the Lord and could often be seen deep in study of the Word of God. Edwin dedicated most of his life to serving our Lord with unwavering faith; therefore, let this be said of him: “I will look unto the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise, the Lord shall be a light unto me.” “This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.” Amen. In Harrisburg, PA, on Saturday, March 26, 2022, surrounded by his children, Edwin departed this life after a brief illness at sixty-four years of age still rejoicing in the Lord and taking joy in knowing that salvation is in God. Before taking his last breath, not being able to hold his Bible himself, he had his eldest son read Habakkuk, Chapter 3, with him. Edwin leaves to honor his legacy of dedication, love and faith: his former wife, Juliet Johnson; his children, Makeda Johnson, Yohannes Johnson, Jesimiel Johnson, Josechah Johnson, Simeon Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Makonnen Johnson, Tsahai Johnson, Magdalene Johnson, YeAbesera Johnson and Naomi Johnson; as well as other family members and friends. He will be sorely missed. FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE ENCOURAGED TO CLICK ON THE SHARE A MEMORY TAB TO POST VIDEOS, SHARE MEMORIES, CONDOLENCES, REFLECTIONS OR SIMPLY YOUR NAME.
