Mrs. Connie Marie Cox

Connie Marie Cox, daughter of the late Wilson Mosley Sr. and the late Clara Pritchett Lester, was born Sunday, March 30, 1952, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Educated in the Steelton-Highspire School District, Connie pursued higher educational endeavors graduating from Harrisburg Area Community College. She retired from the United States Army Security Assistance Command, 3rd, New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. A very active member of Turner Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, Connie served with the Choir and Pastor’s Aide Ministries. She was a God-fearing, loyal, trustworthy and honest lady. During her travels to numerous churches, Connie unabashedly testified and praised the Lord for His goodness. You felt her loving spirit and witnessed her beautiful smile. Connie was “old-school,” lighthearted, courageous, intelligent, caring, optimistic, inquisitive, selfless, sympathetic, a social butterfly, independent, caring, energetic and wise—just to mention a few of her most obvious characteristics. She was passionate when it came to her beliefs, but always open-minded, genuine and real. On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in her sixty-seventh year, Connie Marie Cox transitioned from time to eternity. Along with her parents and her husband, Larry Cox, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis Evans Sr., Oliver Evans Jr., William Duane Evans Sr.; and nephew, Dennis Evans Jr. This proud, nurturing, protective, phenomenal family matriarch leaves to mourn her passing and honor her legacy a loving family: eldest son, Darnell Evans of Kentucky, son, Duane Cox, daughter, Sharonda Cox, both of Harrisburg, PA; her grandchildren: Chapree Pagliari (Steven) of Pittsburgh, PA, Asia Cox-Pratt (Kent) of York, PA, Blake Cox, Duane Cox, Khiana Cox, all of Harrisburg, Shavon Winters of Virginia, Brandon Winters of Washington, DC, Kyle Winters of Virginia, Stacey Carson of Gettysburg, PA, Darnell Evans Jr. of Reading, PA, Amiah Evans of Reading; great-granddaughter, Kenzleigh Pratt of York; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Gail Oakley (Douglas) of Steelton, PA, Deborah Cunningham (Mike) of Gettysburg, Charles Evans (Nancy) of Steelton, Rev. Wilson Mosley Jr. (Hattie) of Middletown, PA, Barbara Evans of Steelton, Linn Mosley of Harrisburg; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
