Willie James Cooper

Willie James Cooper, son of the late Charlie Cooper and the late Annie Cooper, was born Friday, January 23, 1953, in Louisville, MS. Willie graduated from Louisville High School where he was awarded a football scholarship to attend Mississippi Valley State College. Later, he graduated from Bible Seminary School. Willie dearly loved his family as well as his friends, and he was passionate about studying and teaching the Bible. Willie was united in Christian fellowship with Mount Zion Church of God in Christ, Harrisburg, PA, where he served as an Elder and a Teacher. In Harrisburg, on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at sixty-nine years of age, Willie transitioned from time to eternity joining his parents; his wife, Carol Cooper; and his siblings, Walter Lee, Willis D., Annie Mae, Charlie Jr., Willis Cooper, Hermice Dixon, Nellie, Mary Lee, James, Joe Dan, Sally, Ann Lee, Veterine, Calvin and Gertrude. Willie leaves a faithful and loving legacy to be honored and cherished by his sister, Charlene Collier of Mechanicsburg, PA; brother, Beason Cooper of Louisville, MS; his children, Latricia Durst and her husband Clarence who Willie loved as his own son, Adriane Cooper and Willie D. Cooper, all of Harrisburg, Gertrude Renee Cooper of Ocean Springs, MS, and Emerson Jackson and his wife Kendra of Harrisburg. Willie loved and raised as his own daughters, Tanicka Nicole Patterson and Jamishia White. Willie is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Aubrea Troy Thompson, Carol Jean Cooper-Robinson, Cassius Gene Cooper, Gabrielle Renee Cooper, Ella Louise Cooper, A`riel Royalty Cooper, Mar`Layè Gwendolyn White, Jacque Jackson, Jaaliyah Jackson, Tyriek Jackson, Janajah Jackson, Kwale Jackson; devoted niece and nephew, Tiffany and Milton Steele who held a special place in his heart; his not-to-be-forgotten dog Theo; other family members and friends.
