Mr. Terry Lee Flood "Joe Louis"

Terry Lee Flood, affectionately and better known as “Joe Louis,” entered into rest on Friday, December 7, 2018. He was born Monday, January 26, 1959, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, son of the late Lola M. Flood and the late Bolly Venable. In 1977, Joe graduated from William Penn High School, Harrisburg, PA, and on March 1, 1978, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. His military occupational specialties were Infantryman, Machine Gunner, Mortar Man and Anti-Tank Assault Man. While serving his country, Joe was wounded and received an honorable discharge. His spiritual roots began at the Broad Street Church of God in Christ, later renamed Mount Calvary Church of God in Christ which remained Joe’s home church. He truly loved Mount Calvary Church of God in Christ. Joe was a sharp dresser with a very humorous personality. He loved his entire family. Growing up, Joe, Linda, Dale and Rocky were always together. Joe was always right, never wrong. As far as his mother and grandmother were concerned, Joe could do no wrong. Although Joe and Rocky were first cousins, their close relationship made them brothers. Joe was like another son to his Uncle Manning. Joe loved football, boxing, basketball, shooting pool, music and trying to sing. He especially loved Frankie Beverly and Maze, as well as the Chicago Bears and the American Legion. Joe was preceded in death not only by his parents, but also his brother, Gordon Flood; his grandfather, Charles Flood; grandmother, Mother Henrietta Williams; step-grandfather, Elder Henry Williams; aunts, Sylvia Ann (Flood) White, Marion (Flood) McClinton, Pearl (Flood) Wilkerson, Alberta (Williams) Crosby, Evangeline (Williams) Wilson; uncles, Charles Flood, Peter Flood, Thomas Williams and Carlos Williams. Joe’s life and legacy will be cherished by his daughters, Terrika Crawford, Ashly Crawford, Priscilla Flood, all of Harrisburg, PA; five granddaughters, Trinity Crawford, Taniya Williams, Ajanae Crawford, Amonie Anderson-Crawford, Kirsten Roberts; one grandson, Kory Patterson; his sisters, Pearl (bka Tinkle Flood) Stibbens of Texas, Linda (Flood) Rawls of Albany, GA, Sally Miller and her husband Jerome of Harrisburg, PA; uncles, Aaron (bka Manning) Flood of Harrisburg, PA, Harrison (Veronica) Williams of Newark, DE, Samuel (Shirley) Williams of Oakland, CA; aunts, Ida Williams, Martha Williams of Harrisburg, PA; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; lifetime friend, Mr. Maddie Bellamy of Harrisburg, PA; last, but not least, Joe’s devoted friend and companion, Ms. Kelly Arrington of Harrisburg, PA.
