Tanicka Necole (Patterson) "Tooker" Taylor

With profound sadness, the family of Mrs. Tanicka “Tookerz” Taylor announces her passing following an illness, while surrounded by her husband, family and friends on Friday, March 10, 2023, at forty years of age. Tanicka was born in Harrisburg, PA, on August 30, 1982. She was welcomed into this world as Tanicka N. Patterson by her father, James L. Patterson, and her mother, Gwendolyn Evette White. Fondly referred to as “Tookerz,” she quickly became the apple of everyone’s eye and quite a bundle of joy in the neighborhood as well as amongst family and friends. Tanicka was reared in the Church of God in Christ. As a child she attended services with her mother and at times with her godfather, Reverend Willie Cooper and his family. When old enough to decide for herself, she attended The Rock Church Harrisburg under the leadership of Pastor Joshua C. Robertson. In her formative years, Tanicka attended school in the Harrisburg School District. Throughout her school days, with her fun-loving spirit, sharing and caring heart and ability to communicate well with others, she gained many friendships with her peers and relationships with adults that spanned her lifetime. Many of Tanicka’s relationships with others were embraced in a family way. Everyone she cared about readily went from friend to Mom, Sister, Brother, Auntie, Uncle, Cousin, and as for the children, well, they were her children, and she was an ever-popular Baby Momma. Her caring and protective personality was loved and respected by many as well as a sense of apprehension by the same number. She had a heart to help many within the City of Harrisburg whenever she saw a need or heard of a situation where love, kindness and commitment was the remedy to heal or to bring forth a good outcome overall. This particular trait was the sounding board into a career of service. She was employed as a caregiver helping sick and shut-in the practice of homecare and in facilities, she was active in assisting in the personal care of residents, clients or patients. She was a manager in several McDonald’s franchise locations, as well as a mixologist for several special events and in several establishments in the Harrisburg area. Tookerz was always giving of herself to make others' lives better. She seemed to know just what people needed whether the need was physical, emotional, monetary or otherwise, and she applied herself with zeal to help in whatever way she could. Known to be giving so selflessly of herself was an exemplification of her sweet spirit and gentle heart, beheld by the ones she loved and those that were closest to her. Tanicka was preceded in death by her mother, Gwen E., and two sisters, Rita and Melody. She leaves to mourn her husband, Jermaine A. Taylor; her three daughters, Tymeshia Renee, Journey Evette and Spirit Bri’Hanna; her father, James Louis; a brother, Chandler Martin; two sisters, Chelsa Marie and Jamisha Evette; her brother/cousin, Raynard and Courtney; her family pet K-9, Apollo; and a host of relatives and friends.
