STANLEY “Nink” MCARTHUR ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Remember not my fight for life, remember not the sadness. Please do not dwell upon my death, but celebrate my life. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Stanley was born on August 10, 1949, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the parentage of Charles and Kitty Lee McArthur. He received his formal education in the Dauphin County Public School System. He graduated from Central Dauphin East High School and later became a student at Harrisburg Area Community College. Stanley served in the United States Army and did a tour of duty in Vietnam. He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his three grandchildren who he was very proud of and would be the first to let them know. Such a no-nonsense person—when he spoke everybody would listen…He said what he meant and meant what he said…Try changing his mind…I don’t think so. Stan enjoyed listening to jazz, gardening and sports always supporting the “Underdog.” When Stan was diagnosed with his sickness, he reminded his wife whom he loved dearly not to fall apart but that they would both “Step Out On Faith” and because he told her that--it helped both of them to get through one more day and know that they were still blessed with having each other. When his wife reminded him that he would be able to sit on the swing with his brother at his “New Home,” Stan responded, “I Just Want To Be Made Whole.” In Stan’s sixty-fourth year, at his home in Harrisburg, PA, on Saturday, July 12, 2014, “Nink,” as he was affectionately known, was surrounded by his loving wife and family as he was being called to his “New Home” for his Victory Sleep. Stan was preceded in death by his father, Charles McArthur, and his brother, Herbert McArthur. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and dedicated wife, Alice Pitts-McArthur; his mother, Kitty Lee McArthur; his children, Sheila D. Fulton (Darryl), Shaun McArthur, Tony Pitts (Stacey), all of Harrisburg, PA; his grandchildren, Shauntae McArthur of Pittsburgh, PA, Mason Pitts of Fort Bragg, NC, and Gabe Pitts of Harrisburg, PA; his sister, Annie Dismond of York, PA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
