The Obituary Robert I. Roberts Sr. Robert I. “B.O.” Roberts Sr. was born Wednesday, January 15, 1941, in Harrisburg, PA, son of the late Robert T. Roberts and the late Louisa Inez Evans Roberts.. Educated in the Central Dauphin School District, he retired from AMP, Inc., after twenty-two years of service. As evidence of his faith, he was united in Christian fellowship with St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church under the pastorate of his sister, Rev. Rosemary “Mim” Roberts Harvey. B.O. or Bob, as he was affectionately known, was an avid Penn State Nittany Lions and Baltimore Ravens football fan, Los Angeles Dodgers baseball and Philadelphia 76ers basketball fan. You could always catch B.O. in front of the TV on Penn State game day. Listening to the music of Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson or just simply relaxing with a cold-one on his Oberlin Gardens front porch were also among those things he truly enjoyed. Although he had only two biological children, he considered many other children his own and had an open-door policy to anyone in need. On June 27, 2015, while surrounded by his loving family, B.O. transitioned into eternal life passing from labor to reward joining his parents and his brother, the late John Richard Roberts. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Robert Jr. and Stacei Louise; his sons by love, Kaj Travis and Darryl Washington; his aunt, Marzetta Roberts; his brothers, James T. “Sloke,” Frank W. (Audrey), Don K. (Dolly) and Charles Evans; his sisters, Molly Williams and Rev. Rosemary “Mim” Roberts Harvey (Donnie); along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lovingly Submitted, The Family ‘A Letter to My Daddy’ How do I start to write a letter to one of my favorite guys who liked to sit on the porch with a cold-one, and tell little lies. You knew when you were lying—by the smile on your face, but I would never let anyone take by Daddy’s place. I can remember always wanting to hold your hand. You made me feel so special and safe—because, Daddy, you were the man. You used to let me do anything, and you would never say a thing as long as you could see me, and I wasn’t into anything. “Newton-John” you’d call out, when I was out of sight, but then I’d see your smile and know everything was alright. We’d have so much fun just watching football and such. I love you so much Daddy and will miss you very much. Don’t worry about me and Bobby for we will be okay. We knew you were holding on just for us each and every day, but go ahead and rest Daddy in the precious arms of Jesus--for we know that one day again you will get to see us. This will be hard as your presence we will miss. But knowing that you’re resting safely will get us all through this—it’s so hard to let go—so hard to say goodbye, but we know you’re in a better place with Gram and Sarge at your side. Thank you Daddy for fond memories, the love and all the fun. Your life at the pearly gates has only just begun. There’s so much sun and beauty and so much to do there. I bet you’re in a Penn State sweatshirt—like you always liked to wear. I thank God for allowing us time to prepare as we knew the end was near. I also thank you, Lord, that you count each and every tear. I thank you, Lord, that Aunt Mim made sure Daddy was saved. We had to know in our hearts that you were going home to that special place. For the time has come that we must let go—and it’s so very hard to do. You know how much we love you, and we know you loved us too.
