Michael Harris Sr.

Michael Harris Sr., son of the late Willie J. Wise and Carrie Wise, was born Saturday, November 21, 1970, in Harrisburg, PA. Educated in the Harrisburg School District, Michael fulfilled his passion of playing football for the Harrisburg Cougars from sixth grade to tenth grade proudly wearing his No. 56 Cougar’s Jersey. For twenty-seven years, Michael was employed by Applebee’s Grill and Bar as Head Cook fulfilling another of his passions, cooking. Foremost, Michael loved spending time with his family along with hunting, fishing, PlayStation and supporting his favorite college and pro teams, the Michigan Wolverines and the Denver Broncos. There was no place for Penn State on his TV unless they played against one of his teams. Michael was also a natural comedian--this brother would have you laughing hard in tears on the floor. So dear to our hearts was the love Michael shared with his wife Susan, their children and grandchildren. Michael and Susan shared forty-three years together, shy of twenty-seven days of being married for twenty years. Michael was a kidney transplant recipient with a kidney lovingly donated by his wife Susan. On February 5, 2025, it would have been six years ago. Michael protected that kidney like it was no one’s business. Michael and Susan shared a great love story. Family value was number one in that household. On Sunday, December 29, 2024, at fifty-four years of age, Michael Harris Sr. transitioned from this life joining in eternal life his parents and his son, Anthony Demichael Harris. Michael leaves cherished memories and unconditional love to his loving and devoted wife, Susan Harris; his children, Michael Harris Jr., Destiny Harris, Keri Harris, Jared Jones and Nevaeh Harris; his brothers, Anthony Harris, Richard Harris and Shawn Harris; his grandchildren, Kanyia Harris, Marcus Freeman, K`La Freeman, Malachi Freeman, Bella Harris, London Harris, Michael Harris III, Levin Harris, Eli Wallace, Ellie Wallace and Elias Wallace; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members and friends.
