The Obituary Maurice Eugene Burston Maurice Eugene Burston was born Saturday, September 1, 1973, to Renee Burston in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Maurice was tragically and untimely taken from this life as the result of a motorcycle accident. He entered the eternal rest of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 3, 2011. Maurice was educated in the Harrisburg School District graduating from William Penn Vocational Technical School in 1992. He furthered his education at Cheyney State University. He also graduated from the Metropolitan Barber Academy in 1997. He was most recently enrolled at the Harrisburg Area Community College and was scheduled to begin his training on June 7, 2011. Maurice held various employment positions since he was a teen; his most recent employment was with the Sygma Network. His childhood was spent under the guidance and leadership of his mother, aunts, uncles and, most certainly, his grandmother, the late Marion Burston. Under this guidance and the spiritual teachings of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Maurice learned the love of family and the love of God. Life would take him in different directions; but in his adulthood, he found his way back to Christ attending church services with his wife and children at the Camp Curtin Memorial, Mitchell United Methodist Church. In a relationship as a young man, Maurice was blessed with his son Rashon. In October of 1995, he met and courted the former Alonda Bailey who would become his wife on October 27, 2001. From this union, Maurice and Alonda were blessed with two daughters, Na`ilah and Nia. He dearly loved his wife and children. All he ever wanted was to be good to his family, provide for them and be as important to them as they were to him. Maurice had many things he loved doing including car repair and restoration. He was currently restoring his 1972 Chevy Chevelle and his wife’s 1967 Chevy Camaro. He also loved riding dirt bikes and motorcycles, racing gas-powered remote control cars, tinkering with anything electronic, building and fabricating things, watching football, especially as an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, listening to music, watching movies; and, most of all, laughing and spending time with his family and friends. He had such a warm heart and a kind spirit; he always went out of his way to help people in any way he could no matter how much or how little he felt he was needed. Maurice was loved so much by so many. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Alonda N. Burston; his children, Rashon L., Na`ilah S. and Nia D. Burston; his mother, Renee Burston; father, Marlin E. Pressley; his siblings, James E. Gosa, Derek and Diedra Bowman, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Rhea Johnson; brother-in-law, Gregory (Crystal) Antley, all of Harrisburg; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, so many cousins and friends.
