Mary Anne (Noon/Crump) McLamb

Mary Anne (Noon/Crump) McLamb was born on Friday, March 9, 1934, in Middletown, PA, to the late Priscilla L. (Noon) Crump and the late William R. Crump. Mary Anne enjoyed growing up in the community surrounded by her family on Market Street. Baptized at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Middletown, Mary Anne committed her life to the Lord and continued in her faith throughout her life. She received her formal education in the Middletown School District graduating with the Class of 1952 and excelling in the subject of English. She was active in the Marching Club, Booster Club as well as many more with her besties, Faye Brown and Patricia Reid. She retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Steelton, PA. On June 25, 1955, Mary Anne married Elverd C. “Maghee” McLamb. They were blessed with children, Robin M., Rhonda M., Elverd C. II “Dinky” and Rosalind McLamb, Elamin A. Rahmon, Richard S. and Richardo Hankerson and Charles K. “Denny” Brown. Mary Anne’s cheerful personality touched the hearts of many along the way, and her unwavering support was always kind. She stayed active with family events and loved a “good-ole” family reunion where a sweet potato pie always went missing (Uncle Jimmy), and Uncle Jake and family would come over New Year’s Day for roasted duck and pigs-in-the-blanket. Mary Anne loved those Westerns, John Wayne movies and Gun Smoke just to name a few. She enjoyed gardening, card games and putting together puzzles. She loved music and had an impressive collection of “oldies, but goodies.” She shared this love as well as her love for dancing with her favorite people, Aunt Anna and Aunt Eleanor. In 2013, Mary Anne moved with her daughter Rhonda and granddaughter Jessica who became her caregivers. On Sunday, February 25, 2024, while at her home surrounded by her girls, Rhonda, Rosalind and Jessica, she peacefully transitioned into eternal life at eighty-nine years of age. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant baby sister, Vivian Carrie; husband, Elverd C. McLamb; daughter, Robin M. McLamb; and sons, Elverd C. McLamb II and Charles K. “Denny” Brown; in-laws, Larrie H. McLamb (Yvonne B. McLamb) and Christine McLamb Appleberry. Mary Anne (Noon/Crump) McLamb leaves to cherish and celebrate her life: daughters, Rhonda M. McLamb of Middletown, PA, Rosalind M. McLamb (Audlandus Duffie Sr.), Harrisburg, PA; granddaughter, Jessica E. Zerbe, Middletown, PA; sons, Elamin A. Rahmon, Richard S. Hankerson Sr., both of Harrisburg, PA, and Richardo Hankerson, Corpus Christi, TX; sisters, Anna (Noon) Manning and Eleanor (Noon) Jefferies; in-laws, Henry L. and Lucy McLamb, Wilmington, DE, Eclemus Jr. and Tami Wright, Harrisburg, PA, and Vernette Smith, Bear, DE; along with a host of many other relatives.
