Elizabeth “Liza” Warren Howard SIDE BY SIDE Elizabeth “Liza” Jane Warren Howard was born in Savannah, Georgia, on February 9, 1940, and passed away, entering eternal rest on Friday, January 25, 2013, at the Harrisburg Hospital. Liza was the youngest daughter of four born to the late Willie Warren and Mamie Benton Warren. Liza attended the old Steelton High School and retired from the Harrisburg State Hospital, Dietary Services, after years of tireless service. Liza was faithful in all she did. She enjoyed playing cards with family on “The Training Sixth” club that she was a part of; cooking and watching the Cooking Channel Network; playing bingo and shopping. She was a fashion icon, always matching every outfit, handbags with every pair of shoes. She dedicated her life and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Liza was also a soft spoken woman—slow to speak, but when she did, everyone listened. She was just like her sister Carrie. She spoke her mind and still loved you; she would wave her hand and kept it moving. She was a joy to be around and always had love for her family and friends. As her sister Carrie, she held many titles of affection, such as, “Liz,” “Doll,” and “Grandmom,” but her most cherished title was “MOMMY.” She was a former member of Beulah Baptist Church, Steelton, PA. Throughout life, Liza being the youngest of four girls had a very special relationship with her third youngest sister and best friend, Carrie Warren, who affectionately called her “Lizzzzzza” in a dragged out tongue. They were inseparable peas in a pod, finding their way together through this earthly journey. It was seldom that you saw one, without seeing the other. It is befitting that she followed Carrie around as the baby sister on earth, then decided to lead the way for them through the pearly gates, and Carrie followed her and somehow, someway talked God into letting them into Heaven together. In addition to her parents, Liza was preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Davenport; grandson, Charles Davenport III; great granddaughter, Jaliyah Hickman; sister, Annie Lee Spencer. Older sister, Carrie Warren, passed away several hours after Liza on January 25, 2013. Liza leaves to celebrate her life a loyal daughter, Lisa Kada; a devoted son, Charles Davenport, Jr.; a devoted niece, Evangelist Wanda L. Hargrove who was like a daughter to her as she would tell everyone; and one sister, Leila Watson, all of Harrisburg, PA. She also leaves to honor her legacy seven grandchildren, Toshaun Davenport, Danielle Davenport-Templeman, Jovanna Davenport, Chartae Davenport, Diontae Davenport, Charice Davenport and Charlay Davenport; ten great grandchildren, De’Andre and Toshaun Jr. Davenport , Ka`Juan Cook, Janelle and Ja`Quan Pitts, My`Jhae and Myia Baltimore, Jazzmine, Jon`nae and Jy`niece Hickman; four great great grandchildren, Antwon Eden, Briana and Brook Boswell and Lamaya Bey; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
