Lewis Allen Robinson

Lewis Allen Robinson, affectionately known as “Slim,” was born on February 2, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York, to Arabella and Joseph Robinson. He was the middle child among his siblings, Rodney Bishop, Joseph Robinson, Patricia Frye, Stanley Robinson, Ronald Robinson, Kim (Jeffery) Miller, Noel Robinson, Gail (Albert) Terry, and Jacquelyn (Robert) Robinson. Lewis attended Thomas Jefferson High School and was employed as a store manager in Brooklyn, New York. He was well respected and loved by many. Known to most as “Slim,” he loved to play pool, golf, joke around, listen to music, and had a big personality. You could always count on having an unfiltered conversation with him, often ending with words of wisdom. On August 11, 2001, Lewis married Charlotte Latrell Tennell. Lewis was big on family, the one he was born into and the one he created. As we know, family is who God has strategically placed in your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. In his early teenage years, he was dubbed “Uncle Lewis” by his many nieces and nephews. At 18, he earned the nickname “Daddy.” Lewis had many names, but one of the most cherished was God’s child. Though he wore many hats, his relationship with God remained most important to him. As Lewis’ health declined, he was surrounded by prayers, love, and support. On Thursday, June 18, 2026, Lewis Allen Robinson was called home to rest safely in his Heavenly Father’s arms. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Latrell Tennell Robinson; his parents, Arabella (Bishop) and Joseph Robinson; his brothers, Noel Robinson, Joseph Robinson, and Rodney Bishop; and his sisters, Kim Miller and Patricia Fye. Lewis leaves to cherish his memory his children, Nikki, Shaquona, Lewis Jr. (Brianne), Arthur, and Arabella (Maurice); 8 grandchildren. In his later years, he earned a new name, “Grandpa,” from his firstborn grandson, Markese. Later, when his younger grandchildren, DeVoughn (Khiebette), A’Mir, Christian, Kayla (Blessing), Isaiah, and Trinity, were born, he became “PopPop.” He was well-loved and is also survived by his nine bonus children and ten bonus grandchildren. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. His life will be celebrated on Monday, June 29, 2026, at The Cathedral at Greater Free Gift Baptist Church, 146 Stockton St, Brooklyn, New York 11206. Visitation from 4:30 PM- 5:30 PM, Service starting at 5:30 PM with Repast immediately following.
