Kenneth Linell Williams

Kenneth Linell Williams, son of the late Costello Williams and the late Mary Pearle (Allen) Calloway, was born Monday, September 15, 1941, in Marianna, PA. Kenny received his education in Washington County, PA. In 1969, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country for eleven years during the Vietnam War. Upon his military discharge, he relocated to San Francisco, CA, and then to Harrisburg, PA. Kenny became employed by Bethlehem Steel Company, Steelton, PA, and in 2003, he retired after twenty-nine years of dedicated service. In 1978, Kenny married Delores “Dee Dee” Cains. Until Dee Dee’s demise in 2001, this union was blessed with two daughters, Atiya and Kaamilah, one son, Rodney, and with love and care, they raised Shawna George. Kenny accepted the Lord as his personal Savior and joined his family in Christian fellowship at Emanuel Church of God in Christ where he served on the Senior Usher Board and as a Trustee. Later, he became a member of Shiloh Church of God in Christ where he served as a Trustee. Thereafter, he joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church serving with the Usher, Culinary and Concerned Men’s Ministries. Presently, he is a member of Beulah Baptist Church where he served with the Missionary Ministry. Kenny was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a giving heart always willing to help anyone in need. Whenever you visited his home, you did not leave without Kenny giving you something. Leisurely, he loved to thrift shop, refurnish furniture, picture frames and have breakfast daily with his many friends at McDonald’s or the Broad Street Market. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved to watch every game. In 2015, Kenny married Diane Thompson and gained two stepsons, Tony and Fred. Kenny was always a sweet and loving husband. At his home in Harrisburg, PA, on Monday, September 5, 2022, surrounded by family and friends, Kenny transitioned from time to eternity joining his parents and siblings, Nathaniel Calloway, Dannie Lawson and Al Hajji Muntu. Kenneth leaves irreplaceable memories and his love to his devoted wife, Diane Williams; cherished daughters, Atiya Brown (Akili), Kaamilah Williams (Daquann) and Shawna George; son, Rodney Williams; stepsons, Fred Thompson and Tony Thompson (Monisha); siblings, Sylvester Lawson, Emmett Randy Kinzer, John Banks, Jocelyn Calloway; sisters-in-law, Kathryn Turman and Lillian Thompson; thirteen grandchildren, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
