Elizabeth Jackson "Liz" Ferrell

Still find joy in each day.” -Amy Nappa Elizabeth Jackson Ferrell was born November 9, 1929, in Wellborn, Florida, to the late Nathaniel and Carrie Bell (Dotie) Jackson. Elizabeth, “Liz or Miss Liz,” as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother. She loved her family and friends. She loved cooking big meals with three to four meats, especially on holidays; sitting around talking, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. She was a beautician by profession. Elizabeth fellowshipped over the years with several churches, Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Wellborn, Florida, Bethel A.M.E. Church, Bristol, PA, Mt. Sinai A.M.E. Church, Harrisburg, PA, and St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Waynesboro, PA. She served as a Stewardess and as President of the Pastor’s Aide Committee. Elizabeth was also appointed ‘Mother-of-the-Year’ in 1997 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Bristol, PA. Elizabeth went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, August 17, 2023. She was preceded in death by many that she loved dearly: her mother and father, her husband, William “Toot” Ferrell, and her one and only son, Larry L. Miller. She leaves to mourn her life two daughters, Reverend Gwendolyn Bell, Manheim, PA, and Janet Jackson, Enola, PA, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
