Diann Denise (Britt) Stinney

Diann Denise Britt was born on Wednesday, January 19, 1955, in Goochland, Virginia, daughter of the late Parthenia (Britt) Key and John Poindexter. Early in life, Diann accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Lord and Savior; always holding on tight to her faith throughout her life. Diann graduated from Reading High School. Thereafter, she attended Bloomsburg University where she acquired her degree. Diann started her career at IBM working alongside her peers helping to create the first computer that stored data. She was employed there for twelve years. After leaving IBM, Diann continued her career accepting a position at the Pennsylvania Bar Association. During her twenty-one years of employment, she met and married Preston Stinney and became Diann Stinney. After many years of dedicating herself to her profession, she gracefully retired in 2013. In her retirement, she became a barmaid at her beloved local American Legion Post #733. She was the go-to-person for all hospitality and the “hostess with the mostest!” She was also the head gatekeeper for entrance into the post, and she took her job very seriously, “No Card…No Entry and Best Be Dressed Appropriately!” However, her most important role in life was being a mother to her boys; a mentor to her nieces and nephews; and a role model to her family and friends teaching them ALL that family always comes first. Whether it be love, loss, joy, holidays or even just fun and games, you would find Diann front and center. Diann was an avid poet who loved to write. She also enjoyed the bingo life and traveling whenever her health allowed. Let us not forget about her baking skills which included her World-Famous Pineapple Upside-Down Cake! Diann Stinney departed this life on Thursday, February 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Parthenia Key and John Poindexter; and two brothers, Clarence Britt and Michael Key. Diann leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved sons, Cory Clinkscale Sr., Dwight Clinkscale and Alfonso Burnett (Eboney), all of Harrisburg, PA; three brothers, Lamar Key (Sabrina), Paul Key (Sandra) of Reading, PA, and Troy Key (Cindy) of Baltimore, MD; two sisters-in-law, Karen Britt of Reading, PA, and Brenda Key of York, PA; along with fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
