Cornelius Lamont McMullen

Cornelius Lamont McMullen, a resident of Lewisburg, PA, transitioned from this life into eternity on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at fifty-two years of age. He was born on Thursday, June 15, 1972, to his loving parents, Velmar Smith and Leonard Middleton, in Harrisburg, PA. “Lamont or Monty,” as he was affectionately known to family and friends, received his education in the Harrisburg public school system where he also received his GED. Monty acquired several trades and worked several jobs. He was a likable well-known cook at the Milton Truck Stop; assisted Rocky Damelio at times in his electrical business; and he was employed by The Dollar Tree in Lewisburg, PA, at the time of his passing. Lamont was a wonderful son, father, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. He was full of life and could be found playing music, singing or dancing daily. When he wasn’t working and had the time, he could be found enjoying some of the other things he loved like hunting in the woods or on the waterways fishing. He loved sports and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Lamont loved attending church, and most importantly, he loved God. He was currently under the biblical teachings of Pastor Terry Cruz and was studying to become a Deacon in the Kingdom of God. Lamont leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Velmar Smith of Harrisburg, PA; his father, Leonard Middleton and wife of Statesville, NC; his stepfather, Franklin Smith of Harrisburg, PA; two daughters, Nicole Hardy and Zeyrae Middleton, two sons, Cornelius McMullen Jr. and Adrian Cruz, all of Harrisburg, PA; six grandchildren; five brothers, Michael McMullen of Harrisburg, PA., Terry McMullen of Steelton, PA., Chris Hayes and wife of Pittsburgh, PA, Dewan Maynard and Jamie Waters of Harrisburg, PA; four god-sisters, Melinda Jackson, Joy Jackson, both of Harrisburg, PA, Joanne Smith of Atlanta, GA, and Lydia Smith of Virginia; two favorite aunts, Gwen Green (Joseph Green) and Catherine Cruz (Angel Cruz), all of Harrisburg, PA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
