The Obituary Mrs. Brenda Boulware ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Brenda was born Friday, October 24, 1941, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, daughter of John Thomas Sr. and Ella Hawkins Thomas. She received her education in the Steelton School District and retired from the Commonwealth of PA, Department of Health. As a confession of her Christian faith, Brenda was a longtime member of The First Baptist Church of Steelton where for a while she served with the Hospitality Ministry. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association, the Central Baptist Association Ladies Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Harrisburg Chapter. Among those things Brenda enjoyed were spending time with family and friends, shopping, casinos, traveling and ‘enjoying life.’ In her seventy-second year, on Friday, November 15, 2013, while at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, Harrisburg, Brenda completed her earthly journey and was received into the eternal rest of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ella Thomas; her husband, James Boulware; and her daughter, Lori Burnett. Mrs. Boulware leaves to celebrate her life and cherish many special memories a loving daughter, Stacey Dawson and her husband Keith; one brother, John Thomas Jr.; a nephew, John McClendon; two devoted family caregivers, Samuel Neal Akra Jr. and Sharon Selvey; five grandchildren, Lakeisha Burnett, Rashelle Brown, Shalonda Akra, Samuel Neal Akra Jr. and Alexis Dawson; seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; as well as her ‘Sister Friends,’ Arminta Adger, Brenda Barrett, Brenda Rooks, Carolyn Jenkins, Eleanor Keys, Catherine Finley and Audrey Splawn. Giving God All Glory, Honor and Praise, Submitted by The Family A memorial celebration will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, November 21st, at her church, 1850 S. 19th Street, Harrisburg, with visitation from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon and final interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
