Wyonna Battle

Wyonna Battle, daughter of the late Fred Danzey and the late Lucille (Battle) Jackson, was born Thursday, June 14, 1951, in Gifford, FL. Wyonna’s educational path included high school graduation, Vero Beach High School, FL, Florida Atlantic University and Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, PA, where she received her Master’s Degree. In 2011, Wyonna retired from the Harrisburg School District. Wyonna was united in Christian fellowship with Emmanuel Church of God in Christ where she faithfully dedicated herself as Financial Secretary, Missionary, Pastor’s Aide, Celestial Choir Member and the Vacation Bible School Ministry. She was a member of the Harrisburg Education Association Minority Caucus HEA Negotiation Team as well as the National Education Association. Wyonna enjoyed spending her time watching old westerns, especially Walker, Texas Ranger, attending church, dining out at new restaurants, shopping, spending time with her grandchildren and listening to the spirited music of Shirley Caesar and J. Moss. In Harrisburg, PA, on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at seventy years of age, Wyonna passed from labor to reward joining in eternal life her parents, her grandmother, Sarah Battle; son, Michael Emile; brothers, Fred Danzey Jr., Kenneth Jackson; and her niece Amyla Danzey. Wyonna leaves a legacy of love, strength and faith to be cherished by her daughter, Shauntell Danzey; son, Bouneake Danzey; grandchildren, DeShaunda Williams, Shaunay Sanford, Zaire Battle, William Sanford IV, Darnell Colston, Shaunell Colston, Satyn Sanford, Zuri Holland (granddaughter/best friend), Iyana Danzey, Jasmine Danzey, Jessenia Danzey, Bouneake Danzey Jr., Trinity Danzey, ShyAnn Danzey, Cataleya Danzey, Omarian Holland; great-grandchild, Naseer McDaniel; siblings, Linda Thomas, Garrett Danzey, Lisha Washington, Greg Jackson, Mike Jackson, Barbara Danzey, Patricia Ann Jordan; nephew, Jordan Jackson; godchild, Charlei Leggon; other family members and friends.
