Mack Brady Aderson, 90, died in Harrisburg, PA, on June 5, 2020. Born in Arkansas, Mack grew up in Steelton and Harrisburg and graduated from William Penn High School. He was the son of the late Joe Henry Aderson and Roxcena (White) Aderson. Mack earned a degree in economics at Howard University. He served honorably in the U. S. Navy, aboard the USS Gyatt during the Korean War era. Always a lively addition to any group, Mack enjoyed attending church, live concerts, sports, politics, current events, and his time spent living in Los Angeles. One highlight of his well-lived life was meeting President Barack Obama at a political event. Mack had many careers over the years, including teaching, counseling, law enforcement, and working for federal and state agencies. He loved children, and one of his last positions was teaching at Milton Hershey School. The students loved Mack; shortly before his death, the school called to ask him to come back to teach. Mourning the loss of Mack are his four sisters: Callie Aderson, Frances Aderson, Lucille B. Aderson, and Marjorie Moore; countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Vercena Aderson McFarland, his brother, Joe L. Aderson, and his former wife, Thomasina Matthews Aderson. A celebration of Mack’s inspiring life will be held at Wallace Funeral Directors on June 25, 2020, at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow immediately at William Howard Day Cemetery in Steelton, PA.
