Lawyer Mack Jr.
April 12, 1937 - April 7, 2022
Lawyer Mack Jr., son of the late Lawyer Mack Sr. and the late Ruth (Sullivan) Mack, was born Monday, April 12, 1937, in Harrisburg, PA. He received his formal education in the Harrisburg School District. Thereafter, he served honorably in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. After dedicated years of service, he retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot. Lawyer was united in Christian fellowship with St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Oberlin, PA, under the pastorate of Reverend R. Mim Roberts Harvey. He faithfully served as head of Hospitality as well as with the Delivery and Trustee Ministries. He participated in all the programs and events of the church willingly and ready to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever needed from building something to reconstructing something. A jack-of-all-trades including mechanic and caterer, Lawyer also devoted his time serving with the Stop-the-Violence Ministry for over fifteen years. Lawyer loved listening to jazz and gospel music. Foremost, he loved his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He attended all their sporting events (unless it was “COLD”). Everyone knew how much he loved and enjoyed Christmas and his trains. Visits to the Broad Street Market with his friends were also among his weekly highlights. While at his home in Oberlin, PA, on Thursday, April 7, 2022, (five days short of his eighty-fifth birthday), Lawyer passed from labor to reward joining in eternal life his parents; and his brothers and sisters, Leon Mitchell, Helen Palmer, Earl Mitchell, Richard Mitchell and Marie Saunders. Lawyer leaves cherished memories and his love to his wife, Andrea Mack (Marie); two daughters, Leslie Whittaker, Lynda Hume (Timothy Hume Sr.); grandsons, Michael Whittaker, Timothy Hume Jr. (LaPortia); granddaughter, Tierra Hume; great-grandsons, Tajh Hume and Teigen Hume; other family members and friends.
