Lawrence Phillip Hinton

Lawrence Phillip Hinton, the youngest son of the late Leroy E. Hinton Sr. and the late Margaret (Jones) Hinton, was born Monday, November 7, 1960, in Harrisburg, PA. As a youth, Lawrence was a member of the Boy Scouts. He attended John Harris High School and participated with the school band. A gifted musician, he loved playing his saxophone. He spent much of his time doing what he loved: fishing, cooking, traveling, and his most favorites, going to the casino and driving his Cadillac (he had several Cadillacs over the years). Lawrence retired from Portlock Maintenance Service. After a long battle with kidney disease, Lawrence transitioned from time to eternity while at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at sixty-one years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Margaret Hinton; his mother-in-law, Sophia Hill; nephew, Andrew Awotwi; and his great-nephew, Dontae-Devahn Winfield. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Lisa Hill Hinton; stepdaughter, Latrease Hill; grandson, Kaydin Hill; his brothers, Edward Hinton (Barbara), Leroy Hinton II, Michael Hinton (Beth Ann); sisters, Rose Hinton Bunch, Patricia Hinton Awotwi, Julia Hinton VanHook (George VanHook); his sister-in-law, Mae Hughes; brother-in-law, Joseph Hill (Jerry); brother-in-love, Carlos Hill; and a host of family and friends.
