James Arthur Joy, son of Commodore Joy and Essic Lee Joy, was born Wednesday, November 23, 1938, in Taylor, MS. He attended Taylor Mississippi High School and was formerly employed by Jones’ Corner, Steelton, PA, and Cloverly Heights, Harrisburg, PA. James spent many enjoyable hours playing bingo, cooking, going to the casino and, most importantly, spending time with his family. He was a sports enthusiast who avidly supported the Washington Redskins. On Thursday, July 8, 2021, at eighty-two years of age, James departed this life joining in eternal life his parents and his wife, Blondie T. Joy. James leaves to cherish many special memories his son, Bruce Morgan of Parksville, MS; daughter, Callie Brassell of Oxford, MS; stepdaughters, Carlette Hill, Sharlette Hill, Michael Hill and Robin Freeman, all of Harrisburg, PA; grandchildren, Nascere Beasley, Mirracle Hill-Beasley, Akiem Britton Jr., Ny`Jai Roy, Yoseph Neal and Ermias Robison, all of Harrisburg, PA; sisters, Lula G. Pratcher of Memphis, TN, and Nina Hervey of Oxford, MS; as well as other family members and friends.
