George O. Eubanks Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George O. Eubanks, son of the late William H. Dade and the late Essie (Miller) Larks, was born Friday, July 14, 1950, in Harrisburg, PA, the seventh of fourteen children. George’s mother and father ensured that their children would have a strong foundation in Christ from an early age. George began his Christian life at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Harrisburg, PA. He faithfully participated in the activities of the church including church trips, Sunday School and the choir. After moving to York, PA, he joined and attended Messiah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Henry G. Baynes. His faithfulness in doing God’s work led to his being made a Deacon. He was so happy to be made a Deacon he stayed true to what God had granted him diligently continuing the work of the Lord with grace and humility. When Pastor Baynes was called Home to be with the Lord and his church building closed, George continued his walk with the Lord at Bethel Commandment Church of the Living God under the pastorate of Bishop S. P. Easton. A honor graduate student of William Penn High School, Harrisburg, PA, he was awarded an academic scholarship to attend Franklin and Marshall University, he continued his education at Millersville University and later did online studies with Lancaster Bible College. After resuming his education, he landed a job with the PA State Human Relations Department in Harrisburg, PA, until relocating to York, PA, where he accepted a job working for the Community Progress Council and received numerous awards for his excellent work skills and good customer service knowledge. His peers nominated him for the RROCS award. George used his carpentry skills doing handyman jobs at his church and helping anyone in need of small odd jobs. He enjoyed and loved music, dancing, attending concerts, collecting old records dating back to the 1950’s, antiques, visiting museums learning the history of his ancestry and spending time with his family. George was a humble and generous person who exemplified pride, grace, humility and the true meaning of family, especially when it came to his daughter Cherrie, his grandchildren, Shaquille, Lameak and Larea, and two little girls he loved as his own, Marleigh and Marlowe, and the love-of-his-life, his best friend and companion Gloria who shared with him many years of good times; she was his rock. While at Wellspan Hospital, York, PA, on Saturday, March 12, 2022, God sent his heavenly angels to surround George with love and comfort as he transitioned from his earthly body to his eternal heavenly body. Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Ann Beattie-Eubanks; two sisters, Dixie Barclift, Susan Dade-Jones; and his brothers, Roy Eubanks, Raymond Eubanks, Robert Eubanks, Craig Dade, Robert Dade and James Dade. He leaves to honor his legacy and cherish irreplaceable memories: the love-of-his-life, Gloria Beattie of York, PA; his daughter, Cherrie Eubanks, White Plains, MD; three grandchildren, Shaquille Hill, Clinton, MD, Lameak Barrett, Baltimore, MD, and Larea Barrett, White Plains, MD; his sisters, Barbara Washington, Leona Lewis, Stephanie Ray, Saundra Davis (Adullah Salaam), Yvonne Dade, all of Harrisburg, PA, Donna Walker (Roland) of Virginia; brothers, William H. Eubanks (Charlene), Ricardo Davis (Sheila), Joseph Davis (Karen), James Davis (Susan), Robert “Bay” Bullock, all of Harrisburg, PA, William Dade (Leola) of North Carolina; his special aunts, Mary Harper, Betty McCoy, both of Harrisburg, PA, Bonnie Booker, Boston, MA, and Barbara Dade of New Jersey; special uncle, Gary Miller of Harrisburg, PA; as well as other family members and friends.
