Demarao A. Gumby Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Demarao A. Gumby Jr., born Thursday, May 31, 2007, to Hermenia Pulgia and Demarao A. Gumby Sr., transitioned unexpectedly at the tender age of fifteen on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Demarao is survived by his parents; adopted father, Shaquille “Abe” Moore; five siblings, Iyanna Puglia, Naveia Puglia, Dalayia Puglia-Flemister, Saaidah Puglia-Murrell, Leo’Cavalli Puglia; four adopted brothers, as well as cousins, aunts/uncles and maternal grandparents, Angela Jones and Edwin Puglia. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Donna R. Nealy; and his maternal uncle, Nicholas Johnson. Demarao, better known as “Fat Man” to close family, received his formal education at Yellow Breeches Educational Center and was looking forward to his tenth grade at Central Dauphin East High School and joining the football team. He was an avid football fan with his favorite teams being the Steelers and Chiefs. He also enjoyed video games with a special interest with PC gaming in Fortnite and Call of Duty. Lighting up any room he entered with his beautiful pearly white smile, no one could resist Demarao. You were guaranteed to laugh being in his presence. Demarao enjoyed quality time with family and friends. He had a soft spot for cuddling with his mother and exchanging jokes with his father. Demarao was a very humble and giving child. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and offer his last dollar. He was very protective of his siblings and any small children that fell within his circle. Demarao will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him well.
