Ms. Constance Yvonne Buxton

Constance, daughter of the late Henry Ridley Sr. and Hannah Ridley, was born Sunday, September 18, 1932, in Thomasville, GA. Constance received her formal education in the public schools of Deerfield Beach, FL. Her employment path included Mary Sachs, Jeanette Shoppe and retirement from Pomeroy’s and Bon Ton Department Stores, Harrisburg, PA. As a longtime member of Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church, Constance served faithfully with the Deaconess, Senior Ushers, Sunday School Ministries and the Senior Citizens. Additionally, she was a dedicated community volunteer and worker serving on the Board of Directors/Harrisburg Housing Authority, Harrisburg Community Civic Club, Steelton Elks, Volunteers of America and Twin Towers Outreach Ministries. Constance was the recipient of numerous honors bestowed upon her by the Elks and the Housing Authority. Traveling was one of her most relaxing and enjoyable interests. In Williamsport, PA, on Friday, March 15, 2019, at the blessed age of eighty-six, Constance exchanged mortality for immortality joining in eternal life her parents and her daughter, Dorothy J. Buxton Roebuck. Constance Yvonne Buxton leaves to cherish many loving and irreplaceable memories her daughters, Carolyn L. Buxton of Wooster, OH, Gloria L. Buxton of Williamsport, PA, Cynthia B. Vanatta of Harrisburg; son, Bernard R.
